About Me:
Hi! I’m Matt! I’m a graduate of Brock University and Niagara College’s joint Game Design program. I’ve been working in the industry for just over a year at Rockstar Games Toronto as an Animation Support Dev.
I fell head over heels for video games as an art form at a very young age, playing through hand-me-down games on my uncle’s old Gameboy Pocket. My fondness for the medium really picked up when I received a GameCube as a Christmas gift one year. By the time I was ten, all I could talk about was the games I was playing, and what games I would make one day.
During my time at university, I had a chance to work on several different projects, and fill a bunch of different roles in game development teams. Though I love just about every aspect of developing games, I swiftly discovered that I had a passion for level and systems design, as well as audio design and animation.
As part of Freethrow Games, I published my first title on Steam, a 4-player isometric horror game called “Shatter Keep” in April of 2021. It has since amassed over 12 000 downloads.
While at Clipwire, I’ve contributed towards ensuring the successful launch and continued support of The Price is Right: Bingo!, As well as providing support on the studio’s other existing titles.
Relevant Experience:
Junior QA Analyst at Clipwire Games. Contributed work on The Price is Right: Bingo!, Solitaire: Pet Story, and Bingo Story: Live Bingo Games.
Lead Artist, Sound Designer and Composer for Shatter Keep.
Combat System Designer, Level Designer, and Composer for THE EDGE_NYC (Ver. 0.1).
Has experience using: 3DS Max, Maya, Blender, Zbrush, the Substance 3D suite, Marvelous Designer, FL STUDIO, FMOD, The Adobe CC Suite, Unity, Unreal, and RPG Maker.
The Fun Stuff:
When I’m not working, I spend a lot of my time on other art projects, usually 3D modelling and 2D sketches, or playing video games (duh). It’s hard for me to narrow down 3 favourite games, but if you held a gun to my head, I’d have to say that they are Metroid Prime, Titanfall 2, and Elden Ring. Also, I’m currently in the middle of running a Cyberpunk Red campaign with a group of friends, where their 3 edgerunners struggle to survive in a megacity built atop the ruins of Vancouver.
